GREAT GREAT SOUTHERN SALE FOR TWO BAYS FARM

The final lot of the Platinum Session created plenty of buzz in the sale ring with Two Bays Farm selling the colt by Epaulette from Loading Zone (Lot 794) for $140,000 to Paul Willetts.  Two Bays Farm also sold the following lovely foals :

  • Dundeel colt – $130,000 to Lyndhurst Farm
  • Unencumbered colt – $87,500 to Wattle Grove Stud
  • Epaulette colt – $70,000 to Coolmore
  • Tesat Rosa colt – $54,000 to Tarcoola Stud
  • Fighting Sun colt – $42,000 to T Patelmo

MONGOLIAN KHAN SYNDICATE SECURE CHAMPAGNE SHISHA FROM TWO BAYS FARM FOR $320,000.

The top lot for the Mongolian Khan at Windsor Park Stud Syndicate was Champagne Shisha, a five-time winner by Dehere bought out of Victoria’s Two Bays Farm draft. Closely related to the dual Group One English Oaks and 1000 Guineas winner Minding, the mare is a half-sister to the European Group One performer Winged Cupid and she has been served by champion sprinter Brazen Beau.

STELLAR SALES OUTCOME AT 2016 GOLD COAST BROODMARE SALE

Two Bays Farm achieved a stellar sales result at the 2016 Gold Coast Broodmare Sale.

The $320,000 sale of Champagne Shisha, in foal to Brazen Beau, to the Mongolian Khan Syndicate topped the sales result for the farm. Other key results were Marheta, in foal to More than Ready, who sold for $150,000 and Hamam, in foal to Shooting to Win, for $120,000. All mares in the Two Bays Farm draft sold for an average nearing $100,000 each.

“Congratulations to all the buyers, we wish them the very best of luck with these lovely mares,” Rob Carlile, Manager, Two Bays Farm said.

Two Bays Farm is a boutique thoroughbred nursery on the Mornington Peninsula, purpose-built to cater for broodmares, foals, weanlings and yearlings. The farm is set on nearly 200 acres at Flinders, a location chosen for its fertile soils, temperate climate and undulating pastures.

STRONG DRAFT FOR 2016 GOLD COAST NATIONAL BROODMARE SALE

Two Bays Farm has sent a strong draft of 11 broodmares to the 2016 Gold Coast National Broodmare Sale.

On day one of the sale, two commercially-mated mares are up for sale:

  • Marheta (Lot 692) – a Group 1-performed mare, in foal to More than Ready.
  • Mayan Prophecy (Lot 698) – a Snitzel-related filly, in foal to Zoustar.

Both have been popular with lookers, Farm Manager Rob Carlile says.

AN ABUNDANCE OF PROMISE IN 2016 INGLIS MELBOURNE PREMIER YEARLING DRAFT

Two Bays Farm presents ten promising yearlings at the 2016 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale at Oaklands, Melbourne in February/March 2016.

All ten of the Two Bays yearlings were bred on the Mornington Peninsula and seven carry the ‘tbf’ brand.  This is is the first yearling draft overseen by gun horseman Rob Carlile.  Rob has quickly built a brilliant team at Two Bays Farm which includes renowned horsewoman Dee Gess-Jones, Jo Carlile and Natasha Smith.

“Our aim is to raise and sell top quality yearlings that go on to be top quality racehorses” – Rob Carlile.

 

Lot 11 - Star Witness fillies going super - this one carries the successful Danehill cross - the third foal of Danzero mare For The Girls who is a three-quarter sister to Exospheres dam Altitude. She is super strong and looks a very early type of filly.
